What you'll do at Mito
- You'll own taking new features from start to finish: through conception, research, implementation, and evaluation.
- You'll help improve existing features. For example, implementing lazy loading of columns in our custom built grid, Endo (short for Endoplasmic Reticulum, the skeleton of the cell), to reduce lag when holding large datasets.
- You'll help to improve and grow our custom UI component library.
- You'll be part of an Engineering organization that cares about eachother's professional and personal development, focuses on clear communication, and building a culture that everyone is excited to be part of each day.
What you need to do it well
- You Ship!: You're able to work quickly with React, CSS, and Python to build production ready, features. We ship features fast.
- Independent and Collaborative: You're able to buckle up and solve hard programming problems by yourself, but you're not afraid of offering or asking for help. When collaborating, you do your best to communicate with empathy towards your teammates.
- Product Oriented: The Mito Engineering and Product teams work closely together. Being an Engineer at Mito is not just about writing code. As an engineer at Mito you'll help ideate on new features and evaluate the impact of releases.
- Understanding of Data Science: You'll evaluate tradeoffs between complexity of implementation and quality of feature by using your engineering and data science hats. Being able to empathize with the the workflows that Mito supports is important for getting those small details correct!
- Growth Oriented: The Mito Engineering team is always focused on personal development. Its the job of everyone on the Mito Engineering team to help each other grow as developers through detailed and constructive code reviews, architecture reviews, and understanding checks.
